I know its been discussed before, but can anyone tell me if having a back box with a bigger bore, an a centre pipe cat back 1/2 inch bigger than standard will seriously reduce back pressure?. Read many topics with people saying get a blitz nur spec but this has a much larger bore than the tte box so surely you would loose back pressure. Wouldn't it be ok just to rid the cat, have a centre pipe slighlty bigger and a back box with a bigger bore, or is the backbox where il be loosing the back pressure, cheers everyone toby

well you will lose pressure but the gain is from the free-er flow of the air. the gain from the back box will be more than the reduction from reduced back pressure. so i would say its okay.

the back pressure is required because your engine exhaust port valves are designed to come open for a set period of time. if you've got less back pressure they effectively stay open too long.

have a nice day
