My brakes have recently started squeeking - does this mean I need new pads/discs?

I thought I'd read a thread about the brakes squeeking when they wear down to a certain level, but I couldn't find it.

Orrrrr, are they just squeeking for no good reason?!

Cheers.

Likely worn pads, if you take the wheel of there's a hole in the top of the caliper to check the wear of the pads. the pads have a line machined in their middle, if you can't see that line, pads are up for replacement.

Cheers, Yves.

probably worn pads, if its a contant squeeking while the wheels are rolling it could also be a vey small stone or peice of grit trapped between the pad and disc.

Ta. It only squeeks when I'm using them, so hopefully it's just the pads. Anyone know of a good place to get some? I used to use eurocarparts.com for my Clio, but obviously that won't work with a Toyota!

I HAD to goto Mr Toyota for mine as nowhere stocks rear Corolla pads. Was dreading the price but ended up being just as cheap!

Yeah, Mr T only wants £30 for a set. But he also wants to fit'em for another £40. Just get the pads and run! ;)
