2012 aygo key problem

Dear members, the master key has suddenly stopped working; I can remotely open & shut the doors; & can crank the engine, but it will not start (presumably because the microchip is not functioning?) However, using the grey (manual) key will start the car. In the last 5 years I have used both keys without any problems. Any advice from anyone who has had this problem & resolved the issue would be welcome. Thanks

Had anything changed prior to the key stopping starting e.g. new key case or Battery change had the key been opened for any reason?

Hi Lee, many thanks for your reply; they say "you live & learn". I certainly have!! as the case was replaced & I "forgot" the transponder! All's well now, so thanks again, Chris
