I don't drive my Corolla that often. Seems the 12V Battery will flatten so following Gray86's advice, I found the Jump Start terminal in the fusebox and have hooked up my new CTEC charger. It's gently winking the green LED and is in normal charge mode. Hasn't gone any further yet so it would seem the Battery was quite low. My question is, has anyone wired the supplied socket for convenience? If you look at my attached photo, there's a single spade terminal next to the croc clip which looks like it's for this purpose.

Johnny, I don't see it, but you could test it connecting a voltmeter to it and earth to check if it is a positive.

BTW,  the blade your Croc clip is on is single sided for +ve.

I guess your car is a 2.0 with Battery in the boot.  You could connect a CTEK tail to the Battery.

Hi Roy124

I just checked to make sure it's connected and found it is but the charger wasn't in any mode! So 2 taps of the mode switch and it's in regular charge. Thanks for that😊

BTW the reason for not fitting the tail to Battery in boot is, it's inaccessible if flat as boot wouldn't open

Oops! Just found why no lights were on...it wasn't charging! That attractive shiny screw in fusebox that looks like an earth isn't. Charging fine now negative attached to screw on chassis. I can't believe that Toyata make it so hard, on my last car it had two terminals easily accessible under the bonnet.

What you say is true to a point.  If you are only planning to connect your CTEK charger after you find your Battery is flat, then the under bonnet option is the only practicable one.  This is where you would also connect a jumper booster pack.

As you mentioned 'wired for convenience'  fitting a tail to the Battery for a regular charge, or even continuous  charge, makes sense.  If the tail was accessible from inside the car then opening the boot would not be required.

That's a brilliant point as it'd be more convenient to leave a window open a crack for cable than having the bonnet up

You would find you can feed the cable around the door.   I would recommend the TOP as you are less likely to forget or trip if out the bottom.

If your door seals are big soft tubular type, you can get the ctek extension cable from the Battery in the boot into the rear footwell to the charger and simply  close the door on the cable. The door doesnt pinch the cable at all.

This is what I do with my yaris cross. I just drive into my garage and plug in the 12 volt Battery to the charger after every time I use the car. Click on the photos you cam make out the charger sitting on a small red tool box.

Ps not my idea. Someone on the yaris section suggested it rather than the faff of, in my case having to use the jump terminal under the bonnet which made it very inconvenient due to lack of space.
