its not illegal but it is a right pig to do, friend of a friend had it done and it passed mots no bother, but it cost him a window when he left the interior light on and flattened the Battery :lol:

I think the solenoid door pop kits are quite a few hundred,and then you've get them fitted, the door handles taken off and weld plates over, the door painted. You get the picture.

Plus to keep the colour right,

you would probably need to paint the two full sides

as a rough guess my mate charges £600 for it to be done

that includes him taking the car to a specialist electrician to have the solenoids fitted and he does all the body work
