2020 CH-R 1.2 liter.

What can I do to increase speed?

What are the options? Performance tune, new turbo, chip?

Would a performance tuning place be a good place to start?

I don't know cars so need some advice.

What's the budget?

The 1.2 turbo engine really isn't a good option for tuning as you will comprises the reliability.

Maybe have a look at a Japanese Toyota forum, I'm sure the crazy Japanese will have tuned a C-HR for performance modifications.

Maybe GR Yaris drive train conversion.

Hi Adam, IM0 considering increasing the performance of your 1.2L would have very little gain. While making any significant increase in the speed of your car might be limited, any performance shops that could advise on modifications like performance tuning or lightweight components may only achieve very modest power gains. However, due to the engine's design, significant performance increases might not be achievable.Any modifications would no doubt have to comply with DVSA regulations. It's important to weigh the cost of modifications against any potential benefits. It’s possible to look at upgrading suspension components or tyres to enhance responsiveness and cornering ability, making the car feel more responsive to drive.

You should focus on the strengths of the CH-R. It excels in fuel efficiency and practicality, and enjoying these positive aspects can make driving it engaging. If maximizing speed is the main goal, then a car with a larger engine might be better, so you may want to consider looking at a different Toyota model. Hope this helps.

If speed is indeed what you want then put bigger wheels and tyres on it.

It will handle like a 2CV and accelerate like a slug but it will have a faster top speed.
