Heating works on passenger side only

I'm doing a detailed inspection of the newly bought car (nickname Adrian) and after charging the aircon I tested the heating/cooling system. All works fine except the driver side heating. I assume there is a electric valve (or a block of 2 valves) that doesn't work as expected. It is a typical problem? I'll be asking for more help if forum search doesn't provide answers... (location of the valves, any tricks to change them, etc.) So far I found that the aircon controller has a self-diagnostic. I'll try that soon.

It is more likely to be a stuck air flap.

Remove the pollen filter and replace it giving it a good clean in there while it is out.

Thank you! I run the self diagnostic procedure (LINK) ant the result is consistent with your diagnosis: 46 - Air mixer valve motor, driver's side

We'll see if I can reach the flap. I'm not sure how big is the LHD vs RHD difference with the heating system.

P.S. For the future: I used DUAL instead of rear window heat as that button doesn't exist in my car

Edit: The pollen filter needs replacing, the mixer box doesn't seem to be reachable. Disk changer in the glove box is not helping either.

I got to the actuator (2 screws + a clip, easy access) and it's not moving when I change the temp min to max to min. There is a video (in Polish) how to fix it, but I'll try to buy one first...

Funnily enough mine had exactly the same problem today. Air con only works driver's side and heater only works passenger side.

Coincidence to see the issue raised on here today. Mine is under Relax warranty still and heater flaps/motors are covered by that according to terms so will take it to dealer and cross my fingers!

I got the unit out, potentiometer worn out. I tried to bend and shift the contacts as a temporary fix, but didn't work. Now I get code 36.  Air Mix Damper Position Circuit (Driver Side/). Time for a new unit...

I think I would try some conducting paint on that.

Probably it would work, but used units are relatively cheap. I'm buying from a different climate zone, so it should be worn out in a different place. 🤪

I tried to find new ones, but I can't. Weird.... OEM Denso 063700-8680
