main beam - H1

dip beam - H3C

or use H3 plus an earthing lead from the loom to the earthing tag on the back of the headlamp near the dip beam bulb holder.

where can i find these blubs as they dont seem to be at Halfords or any other shop i've been 2!

The H1 is probably the most common headlamp bulb used, so should be available anywhere.

The H3C will be difficult as its not commonly used in Europe, but the H3 version is also pretty common. Any decent motoring shop will be able to supply.

I used a H3 bulb. I think I'm replacing the dip beam, this is the light next to the side light. The main beam is the one that blinds people?

I got a bulb from Halfords that looked similar and had one wire coming out of it which i connected the the connector then I soldered a bit of wire on the bulb, then connected to the other side of the connector. It does work, but it is very dull. It is a 55w 12v so I dont know whats going on.

Is it dull when its out of the car, or in the headlight. If its dull when its in the light, maybe the light needs cleaning (use T-Cut on the outside), or maybe the bulb isn't fully seated properly.

The main beam bulb is 55W as well, but is focussed in a different way, so the two bulbs should be as bright as each other when out of the headlamp.

Suspension kit - 4 springs, 4 dampers is £ 300 plus VAT. The springs on their own are £ 97.50 and are made by a racing spring manufacturer for me, specifically for the Sera.

Seems to be light replacing week for me :)

Done the front lights on my dads merc

I done the back brake lights and the driver side light on the sera

I'm still getting the problem where the dipped beam is not bright (problem is on driver side), I swapped this bulb with the other side and same problem, its not as bright as the other one.

Also when I switch the headlight on, the headlight on the driver side does not go on and the dipped beam goes off. The headlight is working as they do go on very faintly when you put the dipped beam on and this does go off aswell.

Anybody got any suggestions? I'm thinking it might be a fuse, but its all in japanese so I dont know what what

How much is delivery for the springs? I'll be in touch in a few weeks to buy them. Will they be OK on a sera with 17's?

Thanks,

Tonnie

Your girlfriend isn't Tina is it?

She is already asking about the lights on another forum topic!

Toyota bulbs were the best answer for me when my headlight went. I think they were about £10-£15 each. Expensive, but they look bright and brand new! I got them from a main toyota dealer.

I'm also considering just the springs for my Sera, and i'm, not sure if they would be ok on my car with 17's. As mine is looking a bit of a high roller at the mo.

I've supplied these kits to owners with 17's and 18" wheels, with no reported problems.

Delivery would be £ 8.50

I suspect there is a poor contact somewhere. Try earthing the bulb on a known earth, eg the earthing tag on the back of the headlight. Maybe the solder joint you did onto the side of the bulb isn't good.

G,

Yeh my girlfriend is Tina. Shes been posting cause my internets been off for a while.

Cheers for the info, will give this a try on sunday whan she comes round. I'm her mechanic :D

I fitted a kool carbon fibre style induction kit, with 3'' polished stainless steel pipe and a smaco reducer. Car sounds really nice now. I'll post some pics of it on Sunday.

Thanks,

Tonnie
