I had a new 5 door RAV4 in 1996, first one in my local area.

I enjoyed it for 2 years but my wife did not like it, felt it was too twitchy on the road and was just a saloon on stilts. Changed it for a Landover Freelander in 1998 and had a series of Landrovers after that.

My current RAV4 is an entirely different vehicle and much more enjoyable. Now three yesrs old and even the wife loves it 👍

My first 5 door RAV was N reg and was one of the first delivered to the local garage. The RAV has evolved from being jeep like to more car like over the generations.

They've grown a bit over the years, the Toyota Yaris Cross is about the same length as the original 5 door...
