Ceramic Coating

Even from my first car 40 years ago,  no matter how old, crap and rusty it was, I still have pride in driving a clean car inside and out and I will continue this until I stop driving.

Everyone has different views on a car and it's use.

I for one, like everything I own, will continue to be clean and I'll be proud of that item.

Cars are not cheap, but I guess there will always be owners out there that don't give a toss about things they own !!

Oooh really?? As in water just beads up on it, no need for any special coatings?

I wonder why they don't use this for the front and especially rear windscreen on all cars! It would be such a big improvement!

If they even just used it on the sodding rear view camera it would save me having to get out and clean it every time after it rains!

I’ll film it for you when I get a few moments.  It is quite something to watch.

Fer chrissake, we're talking about a budget car. Does anyone really care about how shiny it looks?

I'll wash mine occasionaly, perhaps more often when the roads are wet and salty and give it a good hose down underneath.

MOT tester once commented, it was the cleanest car he'd ever seen, presumably because he didn't an eyeful of carp when underneath.

A 2014 Yaris Icon might be a budget car.  We weren’t necessarily talking about such a thing.

I let myself be talked into gardix coating by dealer. They do apply to the screens as well. It's surprised me by lasting well with very occasionally applying the "conserver" whatever that is! With hindsight, I would have got a proper company to do it or DIY as the dealer did a pretty shoddy job of prep on the car and of course I paid way too much!

The conserver is more of the same.  You need to top it up because it disappears after a few months.  They should pay you for doing that.

I know people that are very well off and live like a church mouse.  Maybe they think they can access the bank balance in the next life.  I’ve got news for them!!!

Oh, I found an unused waterproof sticking plaster in the Waitrose car park last Saturday.

Luckily I had my trusty miniature swiss army knife in the glovebox , and was able to inflict a small cut on my finger, so as not to waste it.
