Hey fellas really need your expertise etc. I need a new radiator for my '96 Paseo but my garage said they cant get hold of one. Apparantly there is only toyota that can get one, but they want about £350 for one. I don't wanna be paying that. Anyone know a good place that will get me one? I really am stuck!

Hey

just got an email back from the people at buypartsby.co.uk and they said they not got them in at the mo, and they didnt give me a price or anything. But on plus side my local garage said they would take it off send it to be refurbished and put it back on, about a 2day job. Dunno how much yet but will keep you posted.

Hello All,

I got a stone chip up and smashed a hole through my radiator - had hole in two of the pipes plus half the thin metal lines were missing, Went round trying to find a rad- everyone said main dealer, toyota quoted me £243- £278 (apperantly there is four types, give them your reg no. & they match it).

I went to scrappies and compared the rads from 4efe & 6efe engines ( corollas, celica's etc) but none would fit (even with modification).

I searched internet for scrappies and was emailed a quote for 120 + P & P but looked a bit rough (didnt want same trouble 2 mths time)

In the end I went to a couple of motorist shops and asked them if they could send it to some one to have it reconditioned, cost £139 but come back like brand new, all metal bits was replaced, repainted.

the only thing i didnt do is phone them places that import parts (yellow pages).

hope this helps

allrate sorry to go off topic like but i noticed on your pic MATT u have a fold out screen are paseos double din cos on the starlet where the headunits sit it buldges out above it i never thought it was posible for a fold out screen to work there

Thanks alot

Posted

yes its a double din slot and i hate to admit this but......its not a fold out screen. :(

it is a centurion screen that is places in between the head unit in the bottom slot and the switches for my neons in the top slots.

I have linked it up to the car Speakers through a data switch. After a few probs getting it in its pretty dam cool and gets a fair bit of attention from local cruisers!

The screen is removeable but the base is always in position.

If you would like more detailed pics let me know and ill get some for you.

Take it easy peeps,

Matt
