I've just purchased my first Aygo (a 71 plate with 5300 miles) from Cinch. Lovely nick inside and out and perfect for low insurance and kit.

It's bought for son to drive who has passed test.

My question is around the clutch biting point, are they designed to be quite high as we are all revving it or stalling!

I'm sure we'll get used to it but want to double check it's not got clutch issues as I can return within 14 days.

Yes a high clutch biting point is quite normal for the Aygo, the petrol engine can be revved higher than people think.

As opposed to Hydraulic clutch found in most cars, Aygo uses the cheaper cable actuated clutch.   The characteristic of such are:

1. Usually required more pressure from the driver's foot to press the clutch.

2. Biting point being high even at new.

To ensure the clutch were operated as designed, check the amount of free play on the clutch pedal:

Then adjust the clutch position as necessary:

Note: Aygo MK2 (2021) is the same as MK1 when it comes to the clutch.
