Voice control won't work the windows any more...?

As of yesterday when I ask the car ("Hey Toyota!") to open or close the windows it replies (verbally) "I'm sorry, that feature isn't available at the moment".

• I was previously able to open/close the windows (all of them or individually) this way, it's handy in warmer weather
• The car is recognising the voice command & displaying it in text on the screen as before
• I have tried other commands (turning the a/c on, changing the radio volume) and they still work
• The windows are operating correctly when I use the switches
• This fault has remained over several journeys

Has anyone else had this problem, or know of a cure for it?

You've used the button which disables everyone (apart from the driver) from being able to use window controls. This has the unfortunate side effect of disabling the voice controls.

You're absolutely right!

I spotted the light on the button when I parked at work this morning & logged on now to confess ... (Actually I suspect it was the airport parking people last week)

I had no idea these things were even possible.

I’ve never used voice command in my car as I’m not that bone idle 🤪

But I do understand some of them are useful especially for those that may have some physical impairment.

does any one know what commands are capable on the 2020 corolla?

Using voice for navigation is incredibly useful.

"Hey Toyota, let's drive home"

"Hey Toyota, where's the nearest McDonald's?"

"Hey Toyota, navigate to 121B Baker Street, London"

Works fine in my 2023 Icon model. The design is higher spec.

 

Have you activated Smart Services using the MyToyota app?

It sounds like the voice recognition is much better in the newer ones; It's utterly useless on mine

I tried the window command today and it didn't work 😞. MY2022. The voice replied saying ' that command is not available'.

Today I used my brain to send a message to my finger to open the window, it worked perfectly 😁
