experience - 2 car accidents as a passenger a week apart (2 different drivers) 25+ years ago and it still causes me issues to this day

The human body is a strange machine. A bit like Bob, @flash22, I had an accident nearly 40 years ago, where a learner driver rear ended me. I still have problems with my neck and left shoulder.

Question - Lane Assist has been mentioned. Have you tried turning it off (long press on right hand button on steering wheel (more than 3 seconds)?  Did it seem to make a difference for you?

I’m going to try it but unfortunately I wasn’t very well last night and haven’t been out today. Been sleeping a lot today. Thank you.

At first I didn’t think I had a problem from the accident but I’m coming more to the conclusion that I probably have. I already have degeneration in my neck so it has probably aggravated it. Thank you.

I would like to thank everyone for their help with my problem. It’s so nice to be part of this forum. I’ve got quite a few ideas to try.
Had a phone call about my car repair this afternoon and it’s booked in to get the 2 back bumpers replaced on 1st July.

You are welcome.
If most things been checked and they pass ok low tyre pressure can indeed cause heavy steering wheel feel.
As you mentioned it is hard to keep steering while in the turn not when going straight this might be the culprit. When the car turns the front tyres are actually fighting against the steering wheel angle as they naturally flex and try to return into straight line rotation. The higher the tyre profile is more they flex and more power is needed to overcome these forces. Low tyre pressure only can make it worse where over inflated tyres will make steering wheel feel lighter. Design spec YC has chunky 55 ratio tyres and this can be the case.

Ok, then should not be the tyre sizes , low pressures can cause you issue an though.

Sounds like you need to convince the NHS you need a strapping young chap to give you some regular massage sessions :naughty:

(But decline if they mention Turkish Massages   I made that mistake once... thought I was going to die! I think "Massage" in Turkish means "To Beat the the ever-living crap out of you"  :chair:  )
