Hi,

I don’t think you have screen wash warning lights on these cars. Just do regular checks and top ups, old school  works the best 👌

No screenwash warning light on the Yaris Cross.  I found this out last year when my car was attacked by rogue seagulls on the Fife coastal route last year.  They left an incredible mess on the roof, windscreen and bonnet.  When I tried to clear the windscreen, the screenwash jets stopped after 2 seconds.  It’s the first car I’ve owned in over 25 years that hasn’t had a screenwash warning light’ so you have to do regular checks on the reservoir and keep a premixed water bottle in the car.

Trouble is I can't remember the last car I had where the reservoir wasn't buried at the bottom of a half metre filler pipe, so pretty much impossible to check visually.

True, it’s hard to tell how much water is in the reservoir.

What annoys me is you cannot fill to visually full.  The top of the bottle always shows an air space.   Only when the wash it to the top of the neck can you assume  it might be full.

Are there a tube attached to the reservoir cap for inspection or they are just open on hinge type?
Often checks and top ups works best because you don’t need to look just to up full . That’s what I do every week and of course oil , a lots of oil 😂

No Yaris has ever had a washer fluid warning light or the little tube level thing - You're expected to use The Force to determine the fluid level :g:

I just carry a bottle of screen wash for when it does run out, but apparently I don't use it very much as I very rarely have to add more; Usually it gets topped up enough during servicing to keep it going. (Another thing Jemca actually do! Bravo!  )

I have discovered the screen wash dispensers at service stations are usually the cheapest way to get more though and have filled my spare bottle with it too!

Wait, you can get a light to tell you the screenwash needs filling…..you’ll be telling me next you don’t have to get out of your chair to turn over the tv channel…

I use Prestone Extreme Performance Concentrated it's Whatcar best buy. But I've also purchased 2nd best AA tablets so I will keep a tablet in glove box and top up with water if out and about driving and run out Whatcar link below

+1 for Preston. I use the same thing since 2020 all seasons.

Agree with that fully. Odd though now that this feature isn't there but my 1983 Ford Escort has a float switch for just this warning light. Come to think of it I don't think our 2004 Peugeot 206cc has it either, if it has then I have always topped up before it comes on, same said for my Focus, I don't think it has a light either.

The 1983 Escort was so advanced, washer bottle low level light, brake pad wear indicators, coolant level indicators.
