Hi, Folks,
I will go for a business trip for about 6 weeks. I will have to leave the bz4x 2023 at my garage during this period. How should I keep the Battery safe?
I read some articles on internet. One suggests connecting the level 1 charger all the time and set the charging limit to 60%. Is that a good strategy? Or any other suggestions?

Your car has two batteries.

The traction Battery shouldn't care at all if you just leave it be for six weeks. Just don't leave it 'flat' when you go. Personally, I can't see any need to leave it on charge while you are away.

Your 12V auxiliary Battery will, probably, run flat if left unused for six weeks. If it's in your garage, your best bet would be to connect a smart charger and leave it to trickle charge while you are away.

The RZ has the same issue. If I am not going to use the car for a couple of days I start it and leave in “Ready” for 20 mins. My tracker monitors the 12v Battery and I start the car if the tracker reports 11.8v and after 20 mins it’s 12.2v. 

I will try preconditioning the car remotely and see if that has the same effect - I doubt it as I think preconditioning doesn’t put the car in the “Ready” state.

You can try pre conditioning trick and even though the car has no show a ready mode it is actually 12v system life because this what runs all auxiliaries in the car except ac compressor and electric motors. You might be lucky with that. 👌

Traction batteries are happiest stored around the 50% mark, if possible

I did some research on youtube. Some folks use Battery maintainer on the 12v Battery. Does that mean we will leave the maintainer on the Battery and keep the maintainer plugged in to the wall outlet for 45 days? It sounds weird.

Yes.

Modern cars have a number of electronic systems that remain active when the car is Off. Some are in standby mode, others such as the security systems and communications system are active. These systems are powered via a modest sized 12V auxiliary Battery. Over a period of time this Battery will run flat - if it isn't kept topped up.

It really should 'survive' standing idle for two or three weeks. 45 days may well be getting a little 'optimistic'.
