Corolla Excel 2023

Has anybody had a problem with the Internet radio not connecting when requested having lost DAB signal. 

When the car requests to connect to Internet radio this doesn't happen. I thought it may have been a problem with the cars Internet connection so purchased a mobile WiFi hot-spot with a sim but still get the same problem. 

Any advice would be welcome

I can't really offer much but it looks like you're not alone. 

Mine works fine, I just wish I could set it so it defaults to internet radio instead of using it as a fallback when DAB drops out. 

I have Enable Internet Radio ticked in Settings - Sound & Media

and Changing to IP Stream set to Auto. 

On the MyToyota app I have Smart Services active.

While waiting on the drive connected to the house wifi to check for updates (See Below) I switched on the radio, normally I connect via DAB but for some reason I hit FM, the station it was tuned to had a very weak signal and the notification to connect to the internet appeared, I pressed OK, and the internet radio worked. After waiting about 30 mins (see post below if interested) I disconnected the car from the home wifi. I then checked to see if connecting just via the cars internet worked again it worked perfectly, I then introduced the MiFi router I have purchased and again it connected with no problems. This was all on FM not DAB, the signal on DAB where we live is good so I will have to wait until I go to work tomorrow to see if it works the same on DAB.

I've been getting the same problem for a month now. I have my phone tethered to the WiFi whilst driving so as to give it internet but that hasn't helped. Taking on board what you said I've even tuned to a weak FM signal but no internet.

For some reason mine only started to work after I connected it to the house Wifi, I want to try and get it to connect automatically, so changed the setting this morning - it stopped working, I'm going to try and connect again to the house again and take it from there but I'm going to leave it as needs confirmation.

Have you got data restrictions on your tarrif?

Hi Paul

No data is 15Gb per month and it's a new cycle,.

I have just got in from work and it still wouldn't connect. I even reset the car and connected backup to the account. I tuned to a station that worked last night which again had a very faint signal but it didn't go over to internet radio, it's very confusing. I'm still waiting for an answer from the dealership, I'm going to give them a call tomorrow morning.

Hi. How is your radio now? Mine still doesn't switch to internet radio. The DCM signal bar is nearly always at max, the car still communicates with me with a status report if I leave the doors unlocked and my SOS button is green. So it's unlikely it can't see the "internet" or whatever it uses.

Mine seems to be working ok but only on FM not DAB
