Good morning

I am seriously considering above.
I do 50/50 motorway/urban daily drive 50 miles.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated - as would recommendations for Dealership. I am prepared to travel for the right service - based in West Midlands (England).

Thank you in advance.

Very strange title, so I will be the first to mention the panoramic roof🤔

I've never opened mine since the day I got the car. If I had the option I would have done without but it came as a package with other options that I did want

Thanks.
I would rather have fixed panoramic roof as I will probably never open it!!

Why is the title strange? - am I missing something?

Have to say I thought it was a specific pano roof query! However, I am a fan of opening sunroofs. Partly with having a dog, partly from having been a motorcyclist and if circumstances were different I would have a convertible. A sunroof is the best compromise I can get.

Sorry about title - I can’t seem able to edit it.
I’m seriously considering a RAV4 GR Sport with panoramic roof - probably plug in hybrid.
Anyone care to give feedback please.

No, the Sportage is a Kia! 🙂

I'm beginning to suspect that you are interested in a RAV4 PHEV, GR Sport (grade) and, equally, suspect that the pan roof is merely a distraction in all this.

The RAV4 is a good car. The PHEV is even better if you can make good use of the EV range it offers (or desperately need the stronger performance 😉 ).

I don't have any suggestions for a specific dealership in the West Midlands. You could reasonably buy through a broker or even from Toyota directly online - what you need to consider is where you are going to have it serviced, and for me that would be my local Toyota dealer. If I didn't trust them to do it right, I wouldn't buy a Toyota ...

Whoops!! You’re right - I was looking at Sportage. I’m not any more - I’ve edited post.
The panoramic roof is one of the things I definitely want.

With your daily use a PHEV would suit you perfectly. The sunroof is great save that mine has had 3 fails albeit I suspect 2 were due to dealer repair incompetence of the first……

I have the GR PHEV and love it.
I do approx 35 miles (mixed) in it daily, and occasional 250 mile trips with kids and a rammed boot.

Spent a long time considering options, test driving etc.
Looked at other similar types of vehicles, and very sure I made the right choice.

I specifically didn't want a pano roof so cant comment on that.
I may have read somewhere that they have had the odd issue with leaking?? But that may have been a different car/model.

I've had experience with 4 different Toyota dealerships in the past and all have been good, but none in the west midlands area.
I bought a new T-Sport Celica in Leicester and serviced it there for a few years, but that was about 20 years ago.
If you have time, visit your closest 2 or 3 dealers to get a feel for them, and see what they can offer differently to each other - probably won't be much.
Go for the one with the best coffee 😆

I had a Celica- was fabulous looking car - especially flip up lights.
Unfortunately had the worst customer experience at two Dealerships nearest to me!!

It’s refreshing to hear mainly good reviews on this forum - most car forums have all the moaners on.

I've got a 2021 R4P. Dynamic Premium. Gets swapped for a new GR Sport R4P pan roof bitone in September as it's a company car. Nothing else really comes close to my requirements. I looked very hard.

Pan roof has been a must for me.

1. Driving in the spring and summer through the forests in the Lakes. Brings the outside in.

2. The cabin is dark and drab. Getting the light in from the outside lifts it significantly.

Sunroofs that opens are nothing but trouble.
They all cause problems with time like road noise, air and water leaks, faulty seals and they are difficult to maintain or repair.
Best to be avoided especially if you buy used or plan to keep for longer pass lease period or cash buy.
Fixed glass roofs are better option imo although they can also cause issues and expensive repairs. They also add unnecessary weight to the car.
Before anyone call me idiotic comment again, which everyone is free to do so, you can see here interesting story from a well known guy.

Same here.  Just got a dynamic with the pano roof.  Great for the kids in the back and nice to open the sunroof part as well.  Lightens the cabin.

I have had sunroofs on cars for years with very, very few problems. In fact the most problems by far have been with the RAV…… however as stated above those were compounded by poor repair attempt.

Had about 7 cars with large sunroofs. One car for about 8 years. Only ever had 1 problem and that was with a new Peugeot. That turned out to be an unfixable problem after they tried about 5 or 7 times. But that's just Peugeot bad engineering and even worse dealer abilities.

Climate here is rain or torrential rain most days of the year. Use the RAV pan roof all the time. Opening and closing. Not a single problem. Same with all other cars apart from the Peugeot.

I've seen very few reports of panroof issues on the RAV compared to other makes.

At the end of the day, every additional feature you add to a car comes with a reward and a risk. Where the risk increases over time the older the car is.
