Bluetooth audio always showing Track 1

Hi all , when I'm using bluetooth and playing Spotify no matter what song in an album I'm playing it always says Track 1 on the screen, I've reboot the screen but still the same, anyone any ideas , thanks

Does it do the same thing when you play audio using a different app? 

I've occasionally streamed from the YouTube music app via bluetooth, and that's always been fine.

Maybe the Spotify app doesn't send track info reliably via bluetooth? It's not like it's primary function is to play albums in track order, so maybe it's the app, not the car.

I don't really use Spotify all that often, and if I did I'd go the Android Auto route for the better audio quality.

Thanks , I tried Tidal earlier and it did the same thing , I'll try YouTube music in the morning and see what happens

Why not use Spotify via Android Auto?

It's better quality audio and you get correct track info. 

You don't even need to use the Android Auto screen once your audio is playing, you can revert to using the car's media screen.

Is AA enabled on OP’s 2019 Corolla?

Thanks for your reply , yeah I use Android Auto but this has been bugging me and just wanted to see if there was a reason for it not to display track 2 , 3 etc

That is a reasonable question. 

Id forgotten there are still cars of that age that didn't come with AA as standard. 😆

Tried it in my car today and it's hit and miss whether the correct track number is displayed.

Even album artwork was missing once or twice too.

I just think the Spotify app doesn't play nicely over bluetooth.

Thanks , I'll just let it be as it is , like I say it is no big deal but just something that bugged me , never know one day it'll just start to work correctly, thanks again , Dave 👍🏻
