Steering MK4 Yaris

Hi all,

Recently got a MK4 Yaris and I’m loving the fuel economy, it’s impeccable in this regard. However, finding the steering a little weighty compared to previous cars I’ve owned.

Can anyone else relate? I have experimented with tyre pressures, deviating 10% over & under recommended pressures, but steering weight remains in my opinion on the heavy side. No warning lights either.

Thank you,

Oliver

Hi,

what about the safety system, lane keep assist?
If you can turn off these and try again see if anything changes?
There was another memory recently that has some steering wheel fatigue causing them some uncomfortable feeling.

Thank you I will give this a go. I was even thinking it may just be the fact a car(09 Corsa) I’ve driven in the past had ultra-light steering which I am a fan of, so that’s kind of the benchmark. Other than that the fuel economy is almost unbelievable at times, attaining figures north of 80mpg frequently, can’t believe how often it is in EV mode given it’s solely reliant on its self-charging capabilities. Toyota have truly mastered the hybrid technology.
