Seeking Help: Starting Issues with 2004 Toyota RAV4 XA20

Hello everyone,

 

My name is João, and I'm from Portugal. I apologize for my poor English. I'm new here and recently bought a 2004 Toyota RAV4 XA20 with a 2.0 D4D 116hp engine. 

 

I'm experiencing some issues and would like to know if anyone has encountered something similar or has any ideas on what might be happening.

 

Here are the symptoms I've observed:

/The car is hard to start when cold.

/When the engine is hot, it won't start unless I jump the Battery.

/Once, the passenger window stopped responding.

/The windshield wiper also stopped responding once.

/The engine shut off while driving once, but after using the vacuum pump, it started normally.

 

It's worth mentioning that the starter motor was replaced with a reconditioned Toyota one, but I don't know how long ago.

Jaoa, maybe not the reason however please check your engine earthing and the rest of the bonding cables. Easy check and costs nothing.
