It looks like production is halted here also, that's my understanding. When there is an information blackout it usual means they have potential legal issues.

and yes, there is no production here, understood. It doesn't matter where it is made.

Normally means one of the wonderful Toyota backend computer systems that controls everything needs a good kick to restart it.

Any update on this?

Be interesting to find out what the issues with sourcing a genuine Toyota windscreen was?

Reason I'm interested is I've just seen a quality bulletin appear for Toyota counter balance windscreens quoting EU ECE R 43 approval.

Hi, the issue was/is that they have withdrawn all windscreen replacements for the new Yaris, that is all of Europe not just the UK. This is due to safety issues apparently. I was also told by Toyota UK verbally that Yaris production had been halted in France and Czech republic as well.

My advice, don't buy a new Yaris as a simple problem can see you off the road for months with no information of timeframe for when Toyota will get their act together.

Just spoke to Toyota customer services who said they are seeing windscreens available again and to contact local Toyota centres for updates. Hopefully they are getting them shipped out quickly.

Very frustrating though - my new Yaris has been stuck at Derby for 6+ weeks, the reason I selected it was due it being available for quick delivery!

Thanks for that. I have have just got off the phone with the dealership that sold me my vehicle and they have said that a windscreen is going to be available in the near term.

It's not just Toyota - Mazda and Honda also have these supply issues - if you have to take out parts as they are not to specification you end up with delays due to restocking, current production gets priority, the more links you have in a supply chain the more weaknesses there are

where there is money, there will be some sort of mismanglement

Fingers crossed it won't be long then.

Just noticed the tracker has updated to say my car is now at Toton. Not sure if that means its transfer to the south coast is being organised or if they are sending it back to France on the train?

According to the app mine went from Toton back to France, then from derby back to Toton  just before it moved to the next location so yours is probably on its way to the dealer.
