Hi everyone….does anyone know how to change units from kms to miles on my 2022 bz4x?  Under my unit settings kms is the only option…..dealer says no way to do this but surely there must be???? Also, in MyToyota app the units are set to miles with no way that I can see to change to kms….all rather weird, any help greatly appreciated!

Cork is in the Republic of Ireland? Aka the EU ...

Imperial cars (UK, US etc.) provide the ability to switch between imperial units (miles) and metric units (kms). Bizarrely, metric cars do not ... that's just the way it is.

It is a question for Toyota Ireland, Toyota or the EU.

No problem then ... 😉

Since 2005 the 'law' in Ireland has been that the speedometer must show speeds in kph. EU law states that cars sold in member states (still including the UK) using imperial units must have speedometers capable of showing speeds in both imperial and metric units. This appears to have been 'widely' interpreted as stating that cars in metric states must show metric units only.

Be that as it may, it has emerged before that Toyotas built for the Irish market since 2005 show metric units only - which is especially daft for Ireland as it is imperial one side of the 'border' and metric the other. But that is how it is.

As for your BMW, it may depend on when it was built or which market it was intended for, or it may be that BMW have a different interpretation of EU legislation. 🤷‍♂️

My car even asks me when i reach the French border “ Do you wish to apply Local settings?” Ie change from mph to kmh

My previous Yaris Cross would only show metric units. My new C-HR has allowed me to switch from metric to imperial, which means I can now see mph and mpg - it has meant that I have had to redo my spreadsheet, (i.e. take out all the calculations to convert kms to miles etc.), but I was more than happy to do that so I could use 'proper' figures! 😄

Just to confirm, although the 'big' number shows mph, there is a smaller number that shows kph, so I can see both.

Spreadsheets?  Wow, unless it’s for business records does anyone still keep details of fuel consumption, journey mileage and times, etc?  I can remember people doing this years ago - initially I similarly kept a log book, but soon abandoned it as one more unnecessary chore.

Ref. Mph/kph dashboard info, my C-HR’s (2021) kph scale on the speedometer is ridiculously tiny.  If it is available in the infotainment system, I haven’t found it yet.
