what are the points to check when buying a yaris 1.0 16v

i am  planning to buy a toyota yaris 1.0 16v   from years 2000 till 2005   here in the nederlands , wich are the weak points i need to check ?

Service history, number of owners, rust especially underneath, steering, brakes and brake pipes, have an experienced car mechanic with you and give it a good road test, good luck on your quest 👍.

All of the above    BUT don't believe what they say  check yourself . 

Some guys will remember me an my son searching for a new yaris for him and we found one who gave us a sheet  120 point inspection  all the bit was ticked few oily finger marks on the sheet so yea looked like they had ...

No my son said last Saturday he could here a noise from the front like a chug sound .

Turns out the brake pads was worn down to the backing pad . Brake discs are scratched  and the calipers are ceased.  So Sunday  we changed all 3 ...calipers  disks an pads then see one braket has snapped off the exhaust so fixed that as well .

So don't believe them check yourself . I went over the list with him .

Check for rust and under the car. If the chain doesn't rattle at start up.
Another common issue is water in the spare wheel area due to failed taillight gaskets.
