5 years hard labour ?

An inflationary budget IMO, the employers NI will be passed onto customers as it is a direct additional cost to retailers and manufacturers, the minimum wage increase as above, I would imagine inflation heading north of 3.5% in a couple of months or the dole queues getting longer. It is unfortunate that this current government only looks at todays figures not the result of those figures in a couple of months or years.

Angela Rayner has confirmed that she received thousands of pounds worth of free clothing from Lord Alli, the Labour peer at the heart of the donations scandal. The Deputy Prime Minister declared in her register of interests that she accepted £3,550 worth of work clothes in mid-June. She had previously stated that the donation was accepted for 'parliamentary duties' but later corrected the record after seeking advice from the authorities. Did he actually buy them for her? Apart from the hideous colors and style, the clothes are two sizes too big for her. The last time I saw something like this was on Coco the Clown.😂

But their "company" the Labour Party or the tax payer. Perhaps because he is a donor that makes him part of the Labour Party so it's all OK?

So, do they just give you any color and size, fly you out to America, and put you up in a million-pound apartment?😂

But it’s all declared and perfectly above board, unlike the last lot …who only declared some of it..but that’s all forgotten now

not long to wait now until we find out whether the Tories have truly self-destructed in their attempt to appease the loony right in the party🤣

True, it’s declared, but let’s not ignore that favors like these often come with strings attached. The accommodation’s value was disclosed as a donation of £20,437, but it’s unclear if this includes the total expenses associated with her stay. This has led to scrutiny and discussions about transparency and potential conflicts of interest, as she did not disclose certain details in her original declarations.🤔

IMO I don't think it matters they ran out of ideas imploded and voters  lost any faith. So Kemi Badenoch has a mountain to climb as the new tory leader.🙄

Great result🤣 - although I expect even the tories will switch her out for someone less rabid closer to the next election.

I think a by election would be interesting unless we are still in a 2 tier policing state.

Well you can can guarantee it won't be the first By-Election that will happen under labours tenure. An ideal opportunity for Reform.😄

They aren't going that bad. Unfortunately a largely RW press run by people who have a vested interest in a tory govt are piling in at every opportunity. Imagine what it would have been like if they had done this to every minor misdemeanour of the previous govt. They barely attacked them for serious and large-scale wrongdoings.

I don't disagree about the RW press but to say they aren't doing to bad ask businesses and pensioners if they agree for a start.☹️

There will always be winners and losers, and for a change the losers are those who the Tories protected as they were scared of losing their votes.

Pensioners may well benefit from improved healthcare. It can't get much worse in many areas.

Healthcare is a major concern for all of us but the NHS system needs total reform and governments must stop ignoring this. It isn't working and hasn't for years.☹️

Agreed and waiting lists have only ever gone down under Labour. the tories want to damage it to facilitate privatisation and goodies for their mates.

Well, here's an idea: open up every private hospital and private care facility. This will reduce the waiting lists quicker and ensure that those who are in greater need get treatment more quickly. In the meantime bring in a 30 year strategy for NHS reform and an all party agreement and have it written into law.😀

Until either party in power fixes the social care issue the NHS will still be suffering from bed blocking. Unless the right to decide to end your life becomes an issue for a hidden government agenda for euthanasia 😕

It seems to me Keir Starmer has opened up a huge problem for the Labour Party? Despite all the pre-election promises not to raise taxes, to maintain winter fuel payments, and to have a fully costed manifesto it has become apparent that these have been blatant lies. His backbenchers and ministers will end up spending the next few years trying to defend these perceived broken promises. Surely, this now gives the Conservatives and Reform Party the ammunition they need to sway voters and put pressure on Starmer and his party, potentially causing a loss of confidence in his leadership.

If this continues, it could lead not only to a vote of no confidence but also, if not an early election, at least a high risk that this will be a one-term parliament. As the Conservatives so easily handed the election on a plate to Labour they are already doing the same🫤

Sadly, despite all the talk, when it comes down to it, it seems that we've just got another set of "Politicians" who, like the others before them, and the ones before that, etc. appear unable to match words with deeds.

How far back do we need to go to find a leader that actually did what they said they were going to do in their manifesto?
