Trd, Wheel Details

just a quickie, The MR2's with TRD bodykit, are the wheels on those the same as a non bodykitted MR2, ie is the offset for a trd car 35mm allround or thereabouts, or are they MUCH wider?

In other words, I have 17" rims with 35mm offset allround, 7" wide at the front and 8" rear. if I got the TRD kit would the wheels sit flush with the bodywork?

HOLY HELL, my head hurts! I think I'm still drunk.

hope someone out there can help me,

cheers. :!Removed!:

I also have 17" rims all round... 7J on front and 8J on rear... all with 35mm offset.

Your/our wheels would not sit flush. They would be quite a bit out.

Here is a Rev2 with the kit being fitted, and with the standard wheels they are way out...

Here it is later after a bit of primer etc with 17" wheels more like ours, and they are still way out...

I think you'd either have to get spacers made up... which might cause hell with your wheel bearings etc if they're too big... or go for about 8J or 9J on the front and 9J or 10J on the rear. They do make a set specifically for the TRD kit... but not sure what the dimensions are... but I'm sure they'll cost you the best part of your marriage... I mean bank account. :D

Hope this helps.

Here is the official TRD wheel...

The tyre says 235/40/17 so I'd imagine they've used spacers... unless the few originals that they did had the hubs set up differently (i.e. further out).

How about a TRD Spider? Don't see many of them...

those alloys look very deep, perhaps that would explain how they fill the arches
