Please help! - Clutch master cylinder OEN required.

Hi,

I hope everyone is well.

I need to buy a 1) clutch master cylinder and 2) slave cylinder for my 2005 Toyota Avensis T-Spirit D-D4D, CDT250R-ALMEYW(1D).

Can someone please confirm the OEN's for these parts as I ordered the wrong part the first time round despite my best efforts and because i relied on the website's compatibility indicator as I struggled trying to find the OEN on that occasion -  I'm still unable to determine the correct OEN

So any help would be massively appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Master - 31420-05010 replaced by 31420-05011

Slave - 31470-32023 - It looks to be specific to the CDT250 - rebuild kit 04313-52020

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your help with this.

The Master cylinder that I ordered online from from Autodoc (see here ) conforms to the OEM you have provided but my mechanic has said it does not fit and has sent me an image (see attached) of the one I ordered from Autodoc side by side with the one that he removed from the car.

The one he removed has a plastic body and is slightly different in appearance - not sure what's going on with this but everywhere I have searched online for the OEM brings up the one with the aluminium body.

I have found this second hand one on eBay which states it is for a 2004 T250 - is this likely to fit?

I also checked the online parts catalogue at Toyota parts catalog (epc-data.com and this gives the same OEMs you provided : Clutch master cylinder for Toyota Avensis CDT250R - Genuine parts (epc-data.com)

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Raja

Why has the mechanic written “Toyota 08” on the one he removed? That seems very odd.

Your profile says your car year is 2013. Perhaps it had the wrong part fitted in the first place and you are replacing that with the correct one.

autodoc are well known for cross-referencing the incorrect parts, i also see that the part off your car is a used item from a 2008, so someone may have replaced it as they could not find the correct part

The car is a 2005 Avensis - my profile refers to my 2013 Estima - the Avensis Mark 2 T250 was from 2003 to 2006 and from 2006 there was a facelift model to 2008 so presumably the 2008 part would fit the Mark 2.

that black MC looks to be a later one from a 1.8 petrol It may explain why you are having clutch issues

Thanks Bob, that's really helpful - I am looking at the diagram from the Toyota parts catalogue: Clutch master cylinder for Toyota Avensis CDT250 - Genuine parts (epc-data.com)

The Master cylinder depicted in the diagram looks just like the one I ordered from Autodoc , forgive my ignorance but are these diagrams usually drawn to 'true to life'? - I have attached a screenshot.

31420-05011 is correct, not sure what's going on

your car was built 03/2005, the other MC is for the 1AD engine from 04/2005 -

31420-05031 (31420-05030)

Hi Bob,

Thanks again - which other MC are you referring to?

It is another clutch MC used in the T250

Not sure if this makes any difference but my V5C logbook states the following:

Variant: CDT250(L)

Version: CDT250R-ALMEYW(1D)

I have also had a look at some of the diagrams for clutch master cylinders on other variants of the Avensis and they are different for different which would appear to confirm that the one from Autodoc with OEM 31420-0510 and 3142-0511  looks to be correct.

The EPC uses a stock image, i have checked the VIN on the main EPC that is how I know the build date of your car

I will need to have a conversation with the mechanic and see if he can try to fit the part from autodoc- I'm hoping I can avoid buying the part from Toyota at £198.00 plus VAT which makes the repair uneconomical.
