Hello everyone. I am amazed of Corolla Hybrid and have decided to get one for my job (taxi driver)

The thing is the lowest trim level in my country is more than enough, but there are two things in the higher trim level that have me thinking if its worth it to go there.
Nanoe-x and lumbar support.

Does anyone knows if that nanoe-x thing really works? I'm referring mostly to the antivirus aspect of it, as a taxi driver if it really works its worth it imo.

Second question is about the lumbar support the high trim also has. Is it worth it or I can do the same with an aftermarket cushion?

Thanks

my icon has the electric lumbar support, although I don't use it as the standard seat is comfortable without having to set it so you may not need a trim with it. I found the icon seats in my Corolla to be better than design seats in a Yaris Cross.

Hi,

I can’t answer about nano x but lumbar support, auto dim rear view mirror, folding side mirrors, tinted rear windows, slightly better interior upholstery does make a difference. For most privacy buyers and owners including those who drives a lot mid trim or higher top trims might be a better choice, at least to me. The lower trims has always been the rental company choice and larger fleet .

The rear view mirror is standard in the lower versions here

Imo not worth it for those things. In my country the standard version is 26k and the higher one 32k.

Being somewhat protected from covid tho and having no pain after 10-12 hours of driving is.

The things you mention plus the heated seats, nice rims, full led lights are a very nice plus but not essential

I would love the blind spot monitoring too, and that would also be a solid reason to get the high trim but in my country its only availiable in GR Corolla.
You cant even get it as optional in all other options 😞

In this case then go for the entry level if you happy with all it comes with, and don’t worry about nano x. Regular cabin filter changes and even the most basic filter will be good enough to clean the air where nano x may not stop viruses etc .

Bit difficult for a UK driver to comment about the lumbar support because all versions here have electric adjustable lumbar support as standard (on the driver's seat only).   So no-one here has seats without it to make a comparison (although some may choose not to use it, as above).

Personally, being no longer young and suffering from occasional lower back ache, I do use it and find it very good.   However, you can easily buy adjustable lumbar support cushions on-line, from relatively cheap air adjustable to more expensive electrically adjustable items.   So, if that was the only issue with the lower trim, I'd go for that and buy a decent adjustable cushion.

Bwaaa I wish my Yaris had adjustable lumbar support!! :crybaby:

I think you'll need to get the car and test-drive it for a good few hours - If you're the right shape for the standard seat you'll be okay.

If however you have crippling lower back pain by the end of the run, then you probably want the adjustable lumbar support!

I'm still not really sure what the NanoeX is - It seems to be fancy marketing for some sort of air ionizer crossed with a humidifier. I have yet to hear reports from anyone of it making a noticeable difference to e.g. odours, asthma etc., but I suspect something like that will be hard to notice without some sort of direct comparison.

Whatever difference is these €6000 it’s a huge step up.
In uk the difference between icon entry level and design next trim is only £1680 which makes it no brainier going for design spec s you get better upholstery, mirrors things , auto wipers, very useful extras.

Thank you all guys for your answers.

Yeah nanoe-x is probably a marketing-y thing, its being used for years now (since 15, Lexus first) and there is no fuzz about it online...

I will probably go with the lowest trim, the car has all the essentials in this version (hand rest, back camera, nice 2024 7inch cockpit) plus in my country the leathered wheel.

And I have to pay a plus 1500-2000 for new paint (for taxi) and leathered seats cover.
