What is the difference between a 2014 corolla 1.8 engine and the 2017 1.8 engine?  Or are the the same? And can I put a 17-19 1.8 in a 2014

Both 2014 and 17-19 with VVT have the 2ZRFE, when I research the 14 on salvage sites. It only shows 14 to 16 and the 17s the 19s only showed together. I'm just curious if Toyota did something different with The 17 to 19s. And if anybody knows if the 2017 to 2019 to 2zrfe is the same as the 2014 to 16 to 2zrfe

Yes they are different... Not a lot but different... Guys on prius forum have been doing gen 4 to gen 3 swops for a while now... Think it's mainly cooling pipe routing and stuff that needs to be altered... But it can be done.

17 - 19 are CVT. According to Toyota my block 2014 and the block 17 - 19 have different part #s. Although the CVT transmission from 14 to 19 have the same part #.  I'm guessing the flywheel would be an issue?  Not sure. Probably gonna just look for a 16 with low kms to put in it.

Just take a peak at gen 3 prius forums... Lots of people have already done it...
