Reaction time is quite bad, fair number of oncoming cars complain. Ive got it turned off on the Yaris.

My Mazda has Adaptive LED and you drive on full beam all the time and (I think) 5 bulbs per side come on, dip, and generally move about all on their own. It's set on Auto, so only comes on at dusk and reverts to dip unless very dark or no street lights.  No one has ever complained.  A bit like Mad Eye Moody, but both eyes!  Fascinating to watch, especially when you are behind someone and your lights light up either side of him but he is in shadow.

Adaptive (matrix) headlights - the 8th wonder of the world.

Very disappointed that they're not fitted on my wife's Premiere.

Same here, although I haven't driven mine at night yet too see how good / bad the headlights are.

I have got mine turned on and I did not think the reaction time was that bad to be honest quicker then some people doing it manually that is for sure. I was actually surprised how quick they did react especially when there is a car in the distance that was either coming towards me or appeared in front of me going round a corner or over a hill.

But I do think the real way to do it is those fancy matrix type headlight.

I wonder if they improved it in your one - Certainly in my '21 model it's pretty rubbish; Very inconsistent, sometimes reacting in good time, sometimes not even noticing until the other car is flashing me.

I just stopped using it as I'm much better at switching it, esp. as I can see the reflection of oncoming cars beams around e.g. turns, and turn them off before they're even in view, whereas the auto system has to see them first, and thus always blinds them initially.

I feel a lot of other cars have a similar system as I get full-beamed quite often until they're much closer (Meanwhile I flash at them and eventually just leave my high-beams on until they get the hint  ). Can't be good for my eyes!

not sure but I suspect after the novelty has warn off I will just turn off the feature and go manual just so I feel like I have some say over the what the car wants as I am in control not the car.......well thats what the car tells me 😉
