Now, is it just me or is that plastic handle the flimsiest piece of flimsy brittle plastic that's just going to get worse by the hour !!

I'm a small bloke, I can just imagine a 6ft hunky person just snapping that off.

I'm just happy that I never have to touch it.

They make airliners out of 'plastic' these days. There are many versions of it but don't underestimate 'its' capabilities.

I believe I saw a reference to 'single use' plastic sump plugs recently, into a plastic sump!

Which handles are we talking about? 
Why they need to be any stronger or to look and feel any better? 

What matters is how long they will survive and how long a seat mechanism will survive use and abuse. I can tell that Toyota seats  are on the better side. I have chance to test my seat like very few can do, since I spent 12 hrs shifts in this car I do at least 3-5 times reclining the seat down and up, every single night no exceptions, and the mechanism, the handles and even the seat upholstery still looks good and work as they should. I would say well done Toyota.

The height adjustment seat handle, absolutely shocking quality.

Just no comparison to the one I had on the passenger front seat in my old Rav4 (drivers seat had a electric seat).
