I do hope someone will take a second and answer my question.  Inside both doors in the botton right corner is a lamp mounted. The function is to give a warning light when you open the door.   PLEASE, if you have a Celica, my question: is this lamp OFF when you have the door closed and lights up when you open the door?  Or is it ON even when door is closed?  If it lights up when you open, do you know where the operating switch is mounted?

If the door is closed the light will be off.
