Hello All,

I felt compelled to join up having spent a few weeks reading your posts as a guest while considering which car to buy to replace our much loved Honda FR-V.

Member's comments on the Corolla 1.8 Icon TS were very useful and reinforced my decision to buy the 1.8 Icon TS, in white. I collected the car yesterday and so only have driven from the supplying dealer, and had some local trips, so currently the odometer is around 48 miles but already I am very impressed.  Being the Icon grade it is "poverty" spec but the Driver Assistance features are amazing and the car almost drives itself, even along winding single carriageways.

It may be "poverty" spec but I was surprised it had a steering heated steering heating function included!

It misses out on the projector headlights and misses the fancier "J" DRLs but it is nice to have LEDs all round.  With no night time driving experience yet I cannot comment on the headlights, fingers crossed they are good.

The indicated MPG started at 17 MPG, but by the time I reached home (around 40 miles) it had steadily increased to 71 MPG.

I'm really looking forward to using the remote climate control on hot/cold days, though currently the ambient weather in the UK is neither at the moment.

I asked the dealer to include a spare wheel, being old fashioned I would not feel comfortable relying on a puncture repair kit, though I'll keep the inflator kit in the car as well anyway, it also came with the Toyota Emergency kit and I also ordered the Protect paint and fabric protection which came with a cleaning kit in a very posh zipped pouch.

I've also purchased some after market roof black roof bars to affix out Thule box for extra luggage capacity when required, but I'll save that for another thread.

I'm looking forward to engaging with folks on all the current and even future features as the car's software gets updated.
