Looking at the app for some of my recent journeys whilst on holiday in Scotland, some of the mpg figures were showing low to mid seventies mpg with one even showing 82mpg, the dash readout averaged showing 63/4 mpg , the longer trips seemed to show better mpg than shorter trips, where I was using electric more and averaged 47/54, or thereabouts, so is the dash readout more accurate than the app? or is it the other way around?

For me it seems to be the same figures in the app as per the summary displayed when you switch off the system, so it's at least consistent with that.

Whether the whole Toyota calculation is real world accurate is a different question.

I regularly get figures quoted in the app of 100+ mpg for shortish journeys under 10 miles. My best yet is 165 😲

I know that @CPN works his consumption out manually and his displayed figures are about 10% optimistic compared to actual usage.

Probably just as inaccurate as any other manufacturer though so you can at least compare it with some confidence to previous cars you may have owned

Given what I've heard about everyone's experiences with the app so far I'd not believe anything it said without separate verification

The dash readout from my understanding is exactly the same as thats what it uploads to toyota. Well in my case they have always matched. Do remember though in the app its also broken down into months for the average so you can see your average per month where as the car I think is since you last reset it.

You could export the data into excel and then keep a comparison and also look on the main display in the car to compare.

One day I went to the Docs and it was warm so used the Battery all the way there (mainly downhill) but another day it was colder so hardly used the Battery so you can find the mpg varies wildly.
