Are there such things as gas struts for the bonnet of the current standard Yaris? I had some on a Fiesta which were really good, but I'm not finding much when I look online. Thank you!

If you do find any, please let me know as I fitted a pair onto my GT86 and they were superb.

I suspect, due to the design of the Yaris in the bonnet area, that they are going to be fairly difficult to design and fit using any standard places that are available. The GT86 was good for that...

Just found these on Amazon and have asked a question about the Mk4 23/24 models...

It is a bit of a tricky one as you need the struts with correct ratings, then work out the brackets and offsets, one of those things i didn't get around to on the Mk3

edit. That link is a universal kit

mk4's are all the same for all years, 2024 is just a facelift the bonnet is the same

Just found these on Aliexpress and at that price, it's worth a risk. The first underbonnet shot looks like a Mk4...

Does a Toyota really need bonnet gas struts? The bonnet isn't going to spend a lot of time open anyway.

It's not like it's a VAG product 🤣

Correct...i have to check under my bonnet nearly every week on my Golf for the common water pump/thermostat leak so a gas strut really helps🤣

True but there is the screen washer bottle to consider... 🤣

Ha, nah, probably not; just seeing what's out there is all.

I open my bonnet so often , probably the most used door after the drivers door and never really needed a struts.
Beginning was to check only, although now when I open it I carry two or threw bottles with me , screen wash , coolant and oil ., so struts might have been useful and eventually a kick opening like a boot doors 😅👌

I must admit I would like a set as the Mk4's bonnet is exceptionally heavy for a Yaris, especially compared to the Mk1 and Mk2!

I've only seen gas struts for the GR Yaris, but with that you have to remove some of the foam blocks and re-route the washer jet line so the struts don't foul them, and it just all looks a bit janky as the struts barely clear the sides, and the brackets that anchor the ends seem like they could potentially twist and end up trapping the strut so you can't open the bonnet.
