I am trying to find out how to remove the rear seat base on my 2015 three door Yaris, I have looked at lots of videos but none seem to be as my vehicle

AFAIR, it takes a herculean yank upwards with both hands. If you're not very strong 💪 it can be difficult.

As Bernard writes it needs a can of spinach before trying.

If it's like mine, there are two locating clips at the front of the base. If you run your fingers underneath along the front it's possible to feel where they are located. Fingers of both hands on each side of the clip and a gargantuan yank upwards.

And when you're replacing a little grease will make it easier if you have to do it again.

Without searching, I'm sure this has been brought up before.

Somebody kindly posted pictures showing what the clips look like and where they're located.

Edited to add that I tried searching and this is the only forum thread that shows.🙄

Not a Yaris, but this should give some idea. I would pull at the clip locaion as in the second one and not where he does for the first.

A fine example demonstrating if it's not broken, don't try to fix it. Although they could improve by using two bolts into the body through two vertical brackets at the front of the seat. That might add a couple of seconds during assembly though.😎

Don't try a slow pull. You have to give the seat base a really sharp yank with your hands either side of the clips.

Yeah it's really weird - Bit like silly putty!

If you do it gradually it just feels like it's going to keep resisting until it snaps, but if you give it a short sharp jerk (oo err) then it just pops out (...)!

It's very worth figuring out where the clips are before you do it as the further your hands are from them, the harder it is to make this work!
