Hello everyone

I like using the brake hold functionality of the car. It's versatile at the lights.

My question is how does it work? I cannot hear the parking brake being applied. So, how does it hold the vehicle?

It uses the normal hydraulic brakes to hold the vehicle.

It's basically doing the same job as your foot pressing on the brake pedal.

After 3 minutes a message will pop up on the display asking you to press the brake pedal again to continue with brake hold.

If you don't press the pedal the parking brake will automatically apply.

Also remember brake hold will switch OFF if the driver unfastens the seatbelt!

Exactly as forkingabout says - It's essentially a 'virtual foot' holding down the brake pedal for you, but it has all the trappings that using the hydraulic brake, has which is why it has a timer recommending you switch to P and/or the parking brake if you're stationary for more than a few minutes, and disables itself if you take your seatbelt off or otherwise put yourself in a position where you could get out of the car.

I use it extensively - It's one of the better driver assists the car has (Unlike most of the other ADAS systems!), and is great for getting away quickly at the lights :whistling1: :naughty:
