:( Bad news Went to Germany on a bussiness trip last week, tried the car on the autobahn and loved it.... Even on standard 16" with studless winter tyres it handled great at top speed! Went to the hotel for the night and in the morning the car was gone....:angry::angry: Alarm and all but to no avail... still some thieving ***** got it up and running and it´s gone... Got found a few hours later, totaled. Good news is I´m getting a new one in mid may or beginning of june but I have to drive around in a standard 1.6 liter corolla, courtesy of my local toyota dealer, until i get my new T-sport.... I hadn´t even gotten a chance to fit my 18" summer wheels on it before it got stolen.... The wheels are Alessio Turbo 8*18 et40 and tyres are 215/35YR18 so it should look great with them and the TTE lowering..... :D Will put pics of the new one with the wheels on it when i get it....

Enjoy your cars, but be careful, lot of jealous people just waiting to get it for a testdrive, with or without your permission....

that's rough kurtsi, always a risk of desirable cars being stolen though

people near me have been held at gun point for VW 4motions, impreza sti's etc

usually get found after they've been used as the getaway car for a robbery or something

scary stuff though!

hope u have more luck with ur next Tsport :)

Hi kurtsi so sorry to here about your car. Some people are so dam jealous of other people's property. At least you are getting a new one in the summer ah?

Perhaps you might have to invest in a more advance car alarm eg clifford or toad etc etc. As it seems that the standard toyota alarm is not enough.

Thats really bad... :(

You wouldn't think a new car like that could be stolen so easily.

Yeah really sorry to hear about your car dude - for want of a better phrase, that really blows goats!! At least you get a new one though...

Maybe a bad time to comment on alarm systems, but factory fitted ones are OK - but a theif knows how to defeat standard cars and their security systems. If you had a good quality Clifford system fitted correctly I am nearly 100% positive they would not have been able to start the engine. Remember that the high end systems not only immobilise the starter, ignition and some other engine systems, but also protect the fuel pump with a wireless unit that cannot be traced by cables... just a thought for next time and a word of advice for others currently lulled into a false sense of security by their manufacturers alarm system.

Cheers,

Steve.

I didn´t rely on Toyota security, since we only have immobilizers on cars bought here in finland. I had a Cobra alarm fitted, which is one of the best here, or so I have heard. An alarm doesn´t really stop thieves, only those who think of getting one for a testdrive. Real thieves get any car started, regardless of the alarm.... a sorry fact. :(

May 14 should be the date for arrival in finland and from there a week or two onwards and i should be driving my new t-sport!!! :D

Hi and sorry for your car

Why are they replacing it with a new one? Did you have it fully insured for thieving?

If yes what is the cost? Hope better luck with your next TS.

thx! Yes it was totally covered, cost is about 1000 €/year without bonuses here in Finland. The thieves crashed it and it got totaled so the insurance company replaces it with a new one.
