total loss of power - off to side of turnpike - towed home. Any chance valves / rods aren't shot? I can rotate the crank shaft at the crank shaft pully fairly easily. I haven't been able to get the timing belt cover off as it requires removing the crank shaft pully and i can't seem to remove the pully.  Is there a simple way know the extent of damage? Also is there a trick to removing the crank shaft pully?

with such little working room, it seems like a timing chain would have been a better design.

Thanks for any information
