i now have a 2007 2.2. whilst looking at old posts for center prop bearing advice i noticed there is still a lot of unsolved pre 2006 2.0 d wont start when hot threads. i had a 2005 2.0 d for 3 year ran great until started the wont start when hot thing. it went on for about 6 month and couldnt fix it so just left it running if short stop and if switched off i knew it wouldnt start til after 35-40 mins so no point trying. what fixed it ?  i foolishly put £40 of petrol in one day on an empty tank by accident , it got 2 mile down the road and stopped. drained the petrol out refilled with diesel and it went better than ever with no probs starting when hot, first click every time.and it was like that for another 8 month and only sold it when i inherited my 2.2 but ill start another thread about that. now I AM NOT SAYING TO  PUT SOME PETROL IN.but it cured it

Interesting!! Could it have been some sort of contamination or blockage in the fuel system and the petrol flushed it all through???
