Hi!  I have a 2003 Corolla CE stickshift that I've been driving for well over a decade, and the engine just blew (1ZZ-FE).  The trans is in great shape... currently has about 113k miles on it, and fluid was recently changed.  Considering various options of replacing either the engine or entire car.  The thought had crossed my mind of finding one of the old 2ZZ-GE XRS engines from that era and upgrading to that.  But that creates a lot of questions that I simply do not know the answer to.  Is this feasible to do?  Does it use the same mounts?  What additional parts would be needed?  As a careful manual driver, would the stock 5-speed trans be okay to use in conjunction with the 2ZZ?  For that matter, is the trans even compatible?  Any and all information is appreciated.
