Estima Alpine Head Unit

I am travelling tomorrow to buy a Toyota Estima Areas 2012

It comes with a Japanese Alpine head unit which another forum told me will not work in the UK in any shape or form

I am assuming that is true but does anyone know where I can get the manual for it from?

I do not even know what mode it is although I do have a video of it

Head units for Japanese Domestic Market vehicles will be in Japanese, and that market uses different frequencies to Europe, so may only tune to limited stations here.

If your unit has sat nav, again this will be for the Japanese market. 

Most owners of grey imports replace the head unit .....

nah, just use the Google Translation app

As above it is JDM so only in Japanese, the Nav is useless outside of Japan, the radio uses a different band range and tuning step, also if it has a DVD player it will be region-locked

 

Check the road tax as most are taxed on the old PLG rate (£345) this will tell you if its lez/ulez compliant parts of bucks are right on the fringe of the zones, get some insurance quotes as that can be a shock, not everyone covers imports

This is what I have in my new car.

 

Is this the standard one?

It has bluetooth written all over it but my phone does not detect it
