Hi, all. I'm here really to try and sell my old Celica before moving to a (potential) ULEZ area. I had hoped for a Toyota trade-in scheme, but nothing doing, sadly, so it will be a two-step process, parting with the Celica, and looking for a Toyota hybrid runabout for town in due course! Apparently my Celica will be ULEZ-exempt in seven years, but I'm a bit long in the tooth to wait for that! Harry

Some indication of the price you're after would be helpful, as well as mileage, service history, any existing problems, etc.

If you have documentation showing your Celica's NOx is less than 0.08g/km (Which almost all petrol cars, esp. with a catalytic converter are), you can get an exemption from ULEZ and might not need to sell it!

Interesting! Will look at the latest emission text. I didn't know this.

A 1989 model should be pre-cat', ie: no catalytic converter fitted.

My 1991 ST182 is pre-cat'.

I am looking to sell my 1991 Celica Cabriolet. I'm planning to move house, and need space to get this process moving forward.  Fantastic to drive with all-wheel steering that keeps the car on the road like it's on railway tracks. MoT until Sep 24, but now needs work, according to my local mechanic (see MoT advisory). Still looks and drives like a dream, but suffered a fair degree of corrosion when I had to store it outside (wrapped in a cover) in Lockdown (I needed the garage space for returning family members' stuff). Paint needs addressing, too, as does rear soft-top window, which is opaque. 

Details: 2L automatic transmission with Sport and Eco modes. Equipment includes an electrically operated cloth soft top, electric windows and mirrors, power steering, all-wheel steering. MoT until 17 Sep 2024. Fantastic to drive, and starts first-go every time. However, it has a fair few advisories, including underside corrosion, which would need attention. Other than regulatory advisories, the paintwork needs addressing, with some scrapes, scratches, blips and dings, as well on the soft-top frame, where the paint has largely peeled away. One of the boot support struts has failed, so it won't stay open, and there is a slight bend on the boot lid next to one hinge. The leather seats show their age, but remain comfortable and supportive. Soft-top hood still sound, but rear window has turned opaque over time, and needs replacing. Only modifications are a reversing light to comply with UK rules, and an immobiliser. Tyres in good condition. 

Take a good look at the pics. I've tried to pick out things that need attention.

Lights/ indicators, etc. all work. Aircon needs regassing, but apparently hard to find the adaptor (also, it’s a soft-top…, so who needs aircon?)I bought this car from the warehouse as a low-mileage import in 1999 (a good friend had owned it from new in Tokyo, imported the vehicle, but he was promptly transferred overseas before clearing the car through customs, so I bought it from him. It had been in the warehouse unused for a couple of years). It's been mostly parked in a garage when not in use since then, aside from during lockdown, when it took a significant hit from underbody corrosion, which was a shame (see pics).
