Where is my thermostat?

Hi all, can anyone help me locate the thermostat in my engine? I have a 65 plate 1.6 diesel avensis estate and I can't seem to find an engine diagram anywhere.

The Haynes auto fix manual is useless and the only online diagram I have come across is for the 2 litre.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

The 1.6 diesel will be BMW engine.

it will be the 1ww bmw the plastic housings are notorious for cracking and the hoses not sealing, at minimum, you will need a new gasket

edit, the stat is SU004-00002 oem should be Mahle around £30-40 inc gasket
