Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

I recently purchased a 2020 Corolla Hybrid from a dealer. The USB port and Apple Carplay were working fine for a few months. The USB port suddenly started displaying the error "Unable to recognize this device"

Tried the following as suggested through many proposed online solutions but none worked

- updated my iPhone to the latest version and checked all the settings as required

- used an Apple cable

- had the dealer replace the physical USB Adapter/ AUX port

- reset the radio

- updated with the latest firmware

- Tried multiple iPhones

- Tried a wireless converter device which changes the port to wireless

All the above steps did not help and I still see the same error.

Has anyone successfully managed to fix this problem? If so, please describe the steps or if you were able to find a compatible radio head and USB port which resolved the issue. I couldn't find a solution so far on the internet...

Thanks much!!

Apple cables are junk TBH try a cable from Anker or belkin

Check the ports and cable plugs for damage and corrosion; One issue we see more often than I'd like is dust and food and other ick stuff being rammed into the phone's USB-C/Lightning socket to the point the plugs don't go in properly or some pins are intermittent.

Does it work when you plug it into another car or computer?

Also has the phone had an update that coincided with this happening?
