yes you need an OBD scanner though

Unless you fix the problem that makes the Engine Manage Light turn on, even if you reset it (turn it off), the EMLwill turn comes back on the next time you start the car.

So:

1. Find out why the car is unhappy (read the fault code, find out what went wrong)

2. Fix the problem

3. Reset the EML

Not all OBD2 reader can read & reset Toyota Aygo's fault code.  Afterall, scan tools you found on Amazon etc were supposed to mimic Manufacturer's diagnostic equipment.  (In Toyota's case, it is TechStream).  You'll need to Do homework or even gamble on OBD2 reader.

Generally speaking, the one that were sold below £20 (which uses phone or tablet to help communicate) CAN NOT read anything except stuffs like Coolant temperature / RPM etc  You ask them to do a scan?  They may tell you no code's while the EML is light up.

Get a Carista obd 2 adapter and with your smartphone you can read most of the fault codes you can do with a Toyota tool. These offer one month free pro version and then if you want to continue with pro version you can pay £47 per year or only when you need like £10 per month pay as you go.
And this is probably the simplest and best of all adapters. 👍

Carista doesn,t support the Aygo i have tried it on the wifes 2020.When i asked Carista why they said its because of Citroen C1,Peugeot 108 as well so there is no support from them.
