is it ok to use 95 oktan gasoline on toyota corolla 1999 or do i have to use 98 oktan ?

I understand that cars of that age can use either. I have a Citroen Xantia 3L V6 and when I asked the same question on the appropriate forums all came back with the same answer.

I use both, some places only sell E10 others both. I like to use the E5 most of the time but don’t get stressed out if I don’t.

According to the online Toyota Magazine UK you can use either, assuming your car was made for the European market (see https://mag.toyota.co.uk/e10-petrol-what-is-it-and-can-i-use-it/)

I am just selling a 2000 Corolla and she was fine with either / both so I think it's your choice

For a European market car, 95 RON is fine. E5 vs E10 is a separate debate. I'm being a little bit pedantic here as we now only get E5 sold as a super unleaded in the UK these days but, nevertheless, octane rating and ethanol content are separate things to consider.

10% (or more) ethanol content can be bad for classic cars because the rubber components within the fuel system (carb o-rings, injector seals etc) may not be designed for it and begin to rot. Whether that is a concern or not on a 90s vehicle, I'm not sure. Others can advise better, but the thing to understand is that the ethanol content is the issue, not the octane.
