These errors are MAF sensor and EGR valve so why would check parking brake system show on dashboard...

Hi Shaun,Since you’ve been dealing with these issues for two years, it seems like they’re quite complicated. IMO I think it might be a good idea to see an auto electrician. They’re specialists in electrical problems and will find the issues that general mechanics can miss. They use advanced equipment that can read specific codes and diagnose the electrical systems in your car, including the ECU and sensors. They can give your vehicle a thorough check to find any underlying problems affecting the MAF sensor, EGR valve, and parking brake. They can also perform any necessary software updates to the control units, which might help fix these ongoing issues. The other option is to get a second opinion from another dealer.

For some reason, the check parking brake warning message is often displayed when there is a problem with any system on the car. So in short, your car has a problem with one or more systems, and probably not with the electronic parking brake, especially as the codes you quote are for the MAF sensor and EGR valve.

I can only echo what Bper has already said. Ask a good auto electrician to look at it, or take it to a different dealer.

Diesel Avensis post 2014  it’s not a real Toyota.
It’s a BMW’s car with the bmw drama but not the bmw performance  or refinement.

Yes had an MGZT before the Avensis same engine...But these errors also clear by themselves sometimes but always come back otherwise I really like the car..

2ww 2.0 diesel i take it, these engines are well known for issues with the swirl flap system (usually jammed up with carbon) which effectively chokes the intake

I assume it has had the parts cannon shot at it

Swirl flap system...???

Don't know if you have ever tried adding a fuel additive? Not too sure if it would be as simple as that to solve your problem but I had a similar fault with my car for nearly a year. I then put in some Redex system cleaner and drove it a good couple of hundred miles in one run as I was driving off on holiday. My fault lights then went out. However, they came back on and off for a while but for a few months I added Redex or Sea Foam motor treatment to my fuel at every fill up and eventually (fingers crossed) no more fault lights for over a year now. Might be worth a try???

Quite a common fault with certain BMW engines, and relatively easy to remedy permanently by deleting them, they were quite prone to breaking apart, though I stress this is for BMW engines in BMW cars, I don't know if it's applicable to BMW engines fitted to Toyotas.
