Which C-HR model and year has the Lithium Ion or Nikel MH?

I wonder if its true if the C-HR has two variants of Battery fitted. I remember I seen it in an article but cant seem to find it again. If there is such thing as C-HR Battery with Nikel MH as its my preferred choice.

As I understand, the 1.8L C-HR has a Li-ion Battery. The 2.0L came with a NiMh Battery from introduction. I believe that they are both Li-ion in the Mk 2.

It's a fun question even if the answer is utterly unimportant ...

My wife has a 2021 registered C-HR 2.0L. The Owner's Manual for her car is surprisingly silent about the traction Battery spec but includes the statement:

Hybrid Battery (traction battery): 2ZR-FXE engine (except for Guadelope, Martinique, F. Guiana and Greenland): Your vehicle contains a sealed lithium-ion Battery.

The implication is that the "2ZR-FXE engine (for Guadelope, Martinique, F. Guiana and Greenland)
and M20A-FXS engine
" have a different traction battery (i.e. NiMH). This then shows as 7.2V/module as opposed to 3.7V/cell for the Li-ion.

Either way, it suggests that one could download an Owner's Manual for any particular model year and deduce from that what hybrid battery technology was being used ... if one really wanted to! 🙂

Note: the 2ZR-FXE engine is 1.8L while the M20A-FXS engine is 2.0L.

Does not read matter what chemistry has the Battery, Toyota does both qualify batteries that last long. All you need to take care off is to keep cooling fan grill unobstructed and replace filter more often, especially if you drive in dusty , dry and sandy areas or have pets. 👍
