Got a malfunction message ( some 30 min ago, 18 pm here in Sweden so no toyota garage available until monday)

It says " Fault in contact charging system visit dealer".

Anyone here who knows what that could be?

Have you had heavy rail and water in the charge port or a damp cable?

Worth checking.

Does it come on all the time or just when the charging cable is plugged in?

No, no rain or water, nor damp cable.

The message comes on all the time

Seems like the car has charged correctly/as usual though.

I just changed the charging post/socket, from our former parking place to a new one (swaped with a neighbour).

Rented parking where consumption is added to the home's electricity bill. Could that switch have something to do with it? Got a new tag for the outlet yesterday. Maybe it could be. Will try charging on a public pole and see if it affects.

Talked to a friend who works with PHEVs and he suggested it could be something with the onboard charger

Have you quoted the error message correctly? As quoted it doesn't really make sense ...

Im from Sweden and I tried to translate the message direct from Swedish.

In Swedish it says "Fel i kontaktladdningssystemet besök återförsäljare"

There is no "fault" message while charging.

I have had some problem with connecting to My T app today.

Could the "fault" message have  something to do with that?

Fair enough ... Deepl comes back with "Contact charging system fault visit dealer" - but that still doesn't make much sense (to me).

It sounds most like a connector / connection fault but I'm only guessing ...

Agree with Phillip.

Try a different charger. See if it resets.

Otherwise dealer.

Thanks to all of the above for all the tips, advice and opinions.

When I saw that the charging seemed to work normally I

dared to try charging the car on a public pole (so not the one I suspected could have caused the warning message).

Charged for five minutes (standing the whole time checking to see if anything obvious would hit).

When I charged and disconnected the car, I started and then the error message was gone.

Drove home and test charged five minutes on our charger and then started the car.

Message had NOT reappeared.

Charged for another hour and then started the car with no error message.

Drove the car 80 km without any error message appearing.

Charged the car at home again for two hours. Started the car with no error message.

The error message may have been due to something from what I wrote above ( now below)

"However, the car seems to have charged correctly/as usual.

Got a new tag for the outlet yesterday. Maybe it could be.

Found out that I had some problems connecting to the "my toyota" app through the phone today.

Could the error message in the car have something to do with it

(perhaps far-fetched) ”

In any case, will contact my local Toyota workshop on Monday.

Think it sounds like something more to do with the charging post than the car.

Talked to Toyota today and described the whole incident/progress and they thought it was the car and the new charging socket (the socket is started with a special tag and is linked to our household's electricity bill) that didn't communicate properly, directly.

I would report back if the error message comes up again.
